| Description: | QUALITY ENGINEER An excellent opportunity for a Quality Engineer to support and promote Quality Assurance. Based in West Sussex. KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES Take an active part in Supplier Quality Assurance at home site and Supplier’s site, by:-· Performing sample inspection of received parts as required, with a full knowledge of inspection procedures, and maintaining accurate records· Assessing new parts or products at home site or at the Supplier’s site Assist production; by patrol assuring that :-· Documentation issued is correct – such as drawings and work & test instructions.· The correct assembly processes are utilised.· There is a correct understanding and use of test gear with associated records, by competent people. · Assisting with 3rd party inspections of the Company · Development & support of Team Leadership.· Ensuring that Health & Safety requirements are considered in all activities. Assure product quality throughout the system by:-· Control of Non-conforming material.· Issuing concessions – in conjunction with other departments where necessary – for use of material which will not compromise product safety or quality.· Following product changes to completion.· Maintaining calibration of mechanical & electrical measuring equipment. Assist with the Company Quality Management system to BS EN ISO 9001:2000· Perform internal Quality audits. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE · A suitable technical qualification, usually to a minimum Higher National Certificate (HNC) level. And/ or:- · A minimum of 3 years practical experience BS EN ISO approved manufacturing company. · Competence in the use of engineering drawings; and mechanical & electrical measuring & test equipment. · Application of basic Statistical Process Control (SPC) & fault analysis for preventative and corrective actions; for process, part or product improvement. · The ability to plan, to achieve targets within times scales required. · Knowledge of a Company-wide MRPII data-base e.g. Dataflo – together with IT skills in Word-processing, spread sheets, etc · Have good eye-sight with suitable aids, to make correct visual assessment of materials & finishes.
