| Description: | SENIOR BUYER Our client is an electronic manufacturing company for a worldwide customer base. They now seek an experienced Senior Buyer to assist their Materials Manager. Your responsibilities will include the procurement of a wide range of electronic components and mechanical components, and to participate in supply chain management improvement initiatives. Key responsibilities will include: • Procurement of a varied portfolio of electronics and mechanical components. • Negotiate price, terms and related issues with vendors. • Expedite orders. • Continually evaluate current and prospective vendors to ensure best possible cost, quality, delivery and overall supplier reliability. • Resolve delivery, goods inwards and invoicing issues. • Monitor the usage levels of the parts within the portfolio and make adjustments to the inventory holding policies in order to minimise stock outs, whilst maintaining high inventory turns. • To assist the Materials Manager in developing strategies to maximise the value obtained from the department. Education and Experience: • Experience in purchasing (preferably in an electronics environment). • Proven experience of detailed negotiation. • Computer literate. • Previous MRP experience a distinct advantage. Salary negotiable (circa £25-35k AAE) + 22 Days Holiday (After Qualifying Period - Contributory Pension Scheme, Private Health Insurance, Critical Illness Cover, Free Travel Insurance and Discretionary Bonus Scheme.) |
